Thanksgiving Day Parade

The Thanksgiving Day parade is a tradition that started in 1929.  It set the stage for the West side rivalry between Elder High School and Western Hills High School. Team members, fans, community groups, and anyone wild about football marched to the game in support of their team. What a way to start your Thanksgiving morning!

In the beginning, west siders may have just been excited about football; but this parade is a true example of west side pride.

Today the football game takes place in October, but the Price Hill Historical Society has kept the parade marching.  They revived it in 1991 and it has been getting bigger ever since. Every year there is a Grand Marshal, king, and queen named that represent the great people living and working in Price Hill. A variety of community organizations, schools, and residents get involved and make it happen. Creative floats, good music, and great people are just a few reasons to make this Price Hill tradition one of your own. Don’t forget, the excitement continues at St. Lawrence hall for hot chocolate.
